Austin Lee Russell was born in Nevada on September 8, 1982. He was dubbed “Chumlee” when he was twelve years old. He got close to Corey Harrison as a young child; Rick Harrison and his father founded Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in 1989. Russell has acknowledged that he has Scottish ancestry.
Chumlee grew up with Corey Harrison, who became one of his closest childhood friends, and his younger, wiser brother. In 1989, Rick and Richard Harrison, the father of Corey, opened the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, Nevada, directly off the Las Vegas Strip.

Career
At the age of 21, Russell started working for the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop. Before the first season of the television series “Pawn Stars” was filmed in 2009, he worked there for five years. He emerged as the show’s breakout character and quickly won over viewers.
